Kok Zhaiyk’s flower valley

Kok Zhaiyk or Kek-Jaiyk is a valley close to the Jeti-Oguz Gorge, in the region of Issyk-Kul, located at an altitude of 2,800 meters (9,186 ft) above the sea level. It is a valley characterized by its blooming flowers and spruce forests.

Jailoo Kok Zhaiyk, also called the valley of flowers, is located 5 km (3.1 miles) south of the Jeti-Oguz resort. The valley is covered by splendid red colors thanks to the flowering of poppies between May and the beginning of the summer. The valley extends over a distance of about 15 km (9.3 miles).

It’s a great place for camping, relaxing, and also hiking. According to some historians, soviet cosmonauts were sent to Kok Zhaiyk to rest after their missions in space.
